With a nickname like "Beer Can Island", you might guess this is a fun spot? Yes it is, with a fantastic beach, used mainly by boaters to "beach up" together during the afternoon. Greer Island Beach Park is a secluded peninsula at the extreme northern tip of Longboat Key. This is a great place to meet up with like-minded boaters, and enjoy the afternoon walking along the beach, or playing in the Gulf. While mainly a boater's secret treasure, locals also walk out to the island during low tides. On the beach, you will find shells, birds, and natural fauna, as the water vessels move swiftly by.
