Local Recreation
For those interested in outdoor sightseeing and recreational activities, try Merritt Island. The National Wildlife Refuge is huge and has all sorts of observation spots, picnic places, walking areas, and even paddling places for kayaks.

Great Things to do around Merritt Island

Wow, this place is great and everything is right here all put nicely together. You have got this big giant beach and the longest fishing pier I think I've seen anywhere in Florida. You can fish out here 24 hours a day and they keep it all clean. Very nice for families to come out enjoy a picnic in the park when they feel like it. The playground is great and our children just love it here.
