The island is a good host for a vacation
You get really good views in the morning before any cloud cover disrupts things. Without any visual aid, you can easily see over to Fort Myers Beach and make out most of their shoreline. From the hotel you can walk to the East End Deli, a very good place for sandwiches and lunches on the run.

Sanibel Shellcrafters
Do not miss the Sanibel Shellcrafters, all made out of shells. They have beach shells, fossil shells, and collector shells. What a fantastic display.

Where to Stay on Sanibel Vacations

Lighthouse Beach Park is nice to be near. Any of the hotels on the Gulf are good, but you must compare amenities and activities closely. Free bicycle usage is a nice offering. The Sundial was nice, we stayed there last year.
