Our tour guide pointed out the Clinton Square Monument and the neat history behind it. This is a tribute to the Union soldiers and sailors that lost their lives due to sickness during the Civil War. The interesting part of this is how they died, it was from catching the dreaded yellow fever. No battles during this time occurred on the island of Key West. This is the most scenic area on the island.

Thanks for pointing out some Free Things to Do
Every budget can handle the Florida Keys, and that is cool for all. People think all the attractions are pay to enter, but no. You can even camp at the State Parks for cheap, and it is fun. Make sure you see the free and historic Hurricane Monument in Islamorada. Save your money for the seafood, it is just smart.
