Everything about Key West revolves around the fabulous history this island inherits. Did you know that Indians lived here, slowly driven out by Spanish settlers. The charts of the area listed the area now known as Key West as Cayo Hueso, which translates into Bone Island. And You will hear it when you travel around the area. West Martello Gardens Events The events held at the West Martello Gardens are so cool. A good one here: Sons of Italy Pasta in the Park Venetian Carnival. Nothing beats the homemade Italian pasta, traditional entertainment, theatrical performers, a silent auction, and a gala costume contest. Yes, we have local events that are not just about our great seafood!
