Sand Building Contest Siesta Key
Visiting Siesta Beach over the weekend was a hoot with the live studio audience for the Travel Channel taped episodes of Sand Wars. The show is prime time and has sand sculptures that are unreal. The audience votes and the losing teams get the dynamite treatment.

Beaches in Sarasota away from beach crowds?
You have to drive through the Sarasota Community called Casey Key. It is so pretty, with all of the nature mixed in to the multi-million dollar beach-homes. Try both North Jetty Beach Park (next to Venice ) and Nokomis Beach too. Very nice, plus without the hassle factor or crowds.

Where to go bicycle riding in Sarasota?
The bicycle riding around Siesta Key and Longboat Key are both outstanding. Having sidewalks on nearly every street in the city is so nice and makes things a lot safer for us that love bicycle riding. You can take your bicycles over to the beach bars and have a few drinks and peddle l home for really nice time.
