Once you live here for an extended period, it starts to all make sense on finding the best shells. Of course the Annual Sanibel Island Shell Fair is the very best source in the area. But out on the beach shoreline, the shell hunting is much more exciting. Focus on the areas that have less foot traffic. That is why Captiva and North Captiva are the best locations for serious shell finding.
