There are many photos and artifacts in the house that really show what it was like when Hemingway lived in the house. He bought the house in 1931 and spent many years enjoying life in Key West. Some of his most famous writing was done during his Key West years.

Here is a fact for you, this is the first in-ground pool built in Key West, and it is still one of the largest swimming pools on the island. Hemingway was not too happy with the final price of the pool, which was $20,000.

Key West Sightseeing Strategy
You only need about two weeks to know everything about Key West, or at least see a good amount of the core places. Some of the big attractions you have to go once, an this is a prime example. Other places like the snorkel park at fort taylor you will want to do many times. To see it all, you have to keep doing and seeking new things only.
